Welcome to The Sound Studio

The aim of this game is to get you thinking like an audio programmer. Your job is to recreate the soundtrack for the video footage by drag and dropping the 8 correct audio files from the Sound Library into your Multi-Channel Audio Mixing Desk. Make sure your soundtrack is in-sync with the action. Once you’re happy with your audio track, submit your solution to see how you did.

My role in Quality Assurance, or Game Testing, is important to ensure that games are launched without any bugs or mistakes that could impact gameplay. I take the designer’s concepts and make them into a playable game. Voice Actors ‘act’ out the lines for one or more characters within the game, providing them with personality and identity. As Marketing Manager, I am responsible for spotting commercial opportunities, growing audiences for the games. My job is to make individual games stand out from the crowd. I am working to protect our new game from being used unfairly by others. I am shaping the team to make sure staff work well together throughout the project. As a Character Modeler l use my knowledge of animation and 3D design, to model impressive characters and their movements within the game. I am creating buzz across social media to bring players to the game. As an Environment Designer my role is highly collaborative, so I work with the design team to create atmospheric locations, where the storyline can unfold. As a Video Editor, I cut and edit gameplay footage, to produce trailers and other visual material for a game, often used in promotion. As a Character Artist, my job is to design characters that will be playable within the game, while remaining true to the original vision. I am looking into our target market, making sure they will love the game we produce. I create the sounds needed to build an atmosphere within the game. I am working hard to develop storylines that link together all of the scenes within the game. I am taking a fine-toothed comb through the newly developed game, to make sure there are no mistakes. As a Game Engineer, I design software programs for computer games. I am responsible for creating the mechanics of the games which are coordinated with the story. In this technical role, I am responsible for identifying mistakes in game scripts and voice-overs. Such as spelling, grammar errors and mistranslations. I am setting out the budgets for the game project, making sure it will be profitable. I design the user interface of the game, to make the player experience as smooth as possible. I am thinking up new challenges that will keep players interested in the game. I am looking over the data from previous games, identifying what works and what doesn’t. As Director of Engineering, I oversee the engineering team, to shape the technical vision and drive the execution of the game functionality. As a Storyboard Artist, I help the rest of the team to visualise, pitch and develop a new game. A great Storyboard Artist can communicate plot lines using very little text. My role as an FX Artist is highly skilled. I use creativity and problem-solving skills to achieve amazing effects within the game. As Creative Director, it’s my responsibility to conceptualise and drive the creative vision whilst overseeing all aspects of projects. As a Producer, my role is to ensure a project runs on time and within budget, clearing the way for the game teams to do their work. As a Casting Director, my job is to find the right people to bring the game characters to life. I collaborate with the project team, to get a sense of the type of people they are looking for. I am busy designing the look and feel of the game. I am trying out the first draft of the gameplay to identify any improvements needed. I take the initial illustrations and create amazing animations, to add movement to the game. As a Game Designer, I am involved in the creation and vision of the game. My goal is to keep players always coming back for more, with exciting new content additions.
